Today MARPS-NETWORK visited Kuchu Shiners Offices to attend the DIC daily to oversee the its working and ensures the centre of the functioning as per the mandate  And monitors the weekly work plan for the DIC.Kuchu shiners was assessed and see how things are going and what to improve on what is not good working.everything was perfect but few missing. # KUCHU_SHINERS_UGANDA

Persons who have an STD are at least two to five times more likely than uninfected persons to acquire HIV infection if they are exposed to the virus through sexual contact. In addition, if a person who is HIV positive also has an STD, that person is more likely to transmit HIV through sexual contact than other HIV-infected persons. Hepatitis B virus (HBV) and HIV are bloodborne viruses transmitted primarily through sexual contact and injection drug use. Because of these shared modes of transmission, a high proportion of adults at risk for HIV infection are also at risk for HBV infection. HIV-positive persons who become infected with HBV are at increased risk for developing chronic HBV infection and should be tested. In addition, persons who are co-infected with HIV and HBV can have serious medical complications, including an increased risk for liver-related morbidity and mortality. Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) is one of the most common causes of chronic liver disease in the United States.

Although the massive expansion of antiretroviral treatment has saved millions of lives and slowed the epidemic, more assertive action is needed to turn off the tap of HIV infections. In southern and eastern Africa, the cycle driving HIV infections in adolescent youth must be broken. Elsewhere in the world, and particularly in Uganda, criminalization, stigma, and neglect are causing HIV infection rates to rise again among key populations, such as men who have sex with men, people who inject drugs, sex workers, and transgender people. Without tackling the deep-rooted human rights and gender-related barriers to accessing health services, we will not quell these concentrated epidemics. # Marpi_Mulago  with  # kuchushiners_uganda  were in field to fight the virus that is affecting the youth group with Transgenders/Sex workers in Uganda this was held in Kyebando, Ganda. #Taso_Entebbe with #kuchu_shiners Uganda carried out and outreach in Bujjuko Kyebando with where they tested people for HIV and STDs, Counseling and giving out medicine. this outreach, many KPs were involved in it to test them selves in order to know their status an how to know how to prevent acquiring HIV with out know what to do and to go.
